Australia’s new nbn™ network cannot ensure if the lift emergency phones will work during power failure. In an event of power outage, nbn™ line would not be operational. Consequently, all lift emergency phones have to be upgraded according to Australian Communication Standards. Failure to comply with these standards might put the safety of lift occupants at risk and the building owner may be in breach of Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
